Yesterday we checked out Jason Ho’s “Puncture Wound” and Quan Hoang’s “Still Life” in a private screening with the directors. While those pieces aren’t (currently) available online, here’s an early film of JHo’s that gives a good insight into how his brain has learned to film.
Perhaps you’ve already seen this documentary. If not, check it out — it’s already on Netflix OnDemand. Babies is overflowing with gorgeous cinematography from 4 corners of the world. What I liked best is that it really captures what makes us alike as humans while at the same time pointing out just how different we are.
It’s also one of the only documentaries that I’ve ever seen which makes its point completely and effectively without the use of any dialog or VO narration.
